The Pottawattamie County Housing Trust Fund (PottCoHTF) recently awarded over $240,000 to the following organizations for the 2021 Grant Cycle:
- Catholic Charities for shelter renovations
- Connections Area Agency on Aging to assist seniors with housing repairs or needed modifications
- Habitat for Humanity to build a new home for an income-eligible home buyer and to assist with down payment assistance
- Heartland Family Service to renovate housing
- Inter-Faith Response, Inc. for rental assistance
- The Municipal Housing Agency for Regal Towers renovation
- New Visions for shelter renovations
- Pottawattamie County General Assistance for rental assistance
- The 712 Initiative for the rehabilitation of rental units
With this year’s awards, the PottCoHTF has invested almost $2 million in affordable housing since 2011. The Trust Fund provides grants and loans for affordable housing, including new construction and rehabilitation of existing units, either single or multi-family throughout Pottawattamie County. It receives funds from the Iowa Finance Authority, the Iowa West Foundation, Pottawattamie County, and from private donations.
