The Pottawattamie County Housing Trust Fund (PottCoHTF) awarded $375,000 to the following organizations for the 2024 Grant Cycle:
- Connections Area Agency on Aging to assist seniors with housing repairs or needed modifications
- Habitat for Humanity to build a new home for an income-eligible home buyer and to assist with down payment assistance
- Inter-Faith Response, Inc. for rental assistance, including security or utility deposits
- Iowa Legal Aid for eviction prevention services
- Micah House for improvements to the shelter
- New Visions for shelter renovations
- Peace Haven for rehabilitation to low-income housing
- Pottawattamie County General Assistance for rental assistance, including security or utility deposits
With this year’s awards, the PottCoHTF has invested approximately $3 million in affordable housing since 2011. The Trust Fund provides grants and loans for affordable housing, including new construction and rehabilitation of existing units, either single or multi-family throughout Pottawattamie County. It receives funds from the Iowa Finance Authority, the Iowa West Foundation, Pottawattamie County, local banks, and from private donations.
